Giving Back To The Community

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

I believe that voluteer work is very important. In order for our world to be a more enjoyable place, we should all do our part to give back. Almost 3 years ago, My husband and I lost our 1st Child, a little girl when I went into premature labor. We were given 2 snapshots that the hospital took and I treasure those dearly. In January 2006 I learned about the non-profit organization, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.. I would give anything to have photographs of my precious Angel, so that is why I give my time to bless others.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of nearly 3,000 volunteer professional photographers in the United States and eight International countries. At a family’s request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.

Operation: Love ReUnited.

If you have ever been through a military deployment, there are no words to explain how hard it is to send the father or mother of your children off to some foreign, dangerous land, As a member of the United States Armed Forces I have been fortunate in that I haven’t yest experienced a deployment first hand, however I have watched family and friends go through it.

It is indescribable to watch faces light up as they see their loved one returning after months, possibly a year or more, of being gone. Emotions are flying and possibly the last thing on your mind is capturing the moment, forever, on film. Often everyone else around you is also waiting for their loved ones to be in their arms again and no one is there with you to just capture the reunion. That is where Operation: Love ReUnited comes in.

If you are a member of the United States Military, and are interested in having very special and touching images with a patriotic edge taken of you and/or your family before a deployment or during, and at your reunion, please contact me now. You will receive a substantial package as a gift in appreciation for all you have been through as a military member. The package will always include a 4×6 album of pre-deployment images sent to your soldier at no cost to you or a 4×6 album of reunion images. There is also a special package for members who I photograph at both the depature and also return.

Think PInk Photography.

I am proud to announce a new partnership with Think Pink Photography.

Founded in October 2007 by Ohio Photographer, Tennille King, Think Pink Photography strives to help breast cancer survivors and their families celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory with a session after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient.

Think Pink Photography is a non-profit organization. Any profits Think Pink Photography receives through donations or various fund raising efforts are donated to the Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation – a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and assistance to families that have been touched by breast cancer.

Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as 10-15 finished 4×6 prints from the session. They will also receive a discount off of any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

I am very proud to be a part of Think Pink Photography, and am anxious to get the word out about this amazing program.

The Littlest Heros Project.

The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization founded in January 2008, made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This is our way of giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world.

If you have a child, or know a child, who suffers from any type of serious illness or life altering disability we are here to help. The Littlest Heroes Project provides you with a complimentary photo shoot for your hero and family. Please read the information on this site and be sure to contact us so we can help pair you up with a photographer from your area. The whole family … Super Sibs and the Brave Parents are welcome to participate in the session as well!

Our mission at The Littlest Heroes Project is to help provide and capture memories for families who are dealing with hectic schedules due to having a child who is suffering from a serious illness or life altering disability. We understand that in the midst of being thrown a diagnosis and having to switch from a “normal” life to a life that is totally different, and often scary, things like getting photos taken is sometimes a huge challenge and is one of the last things families are thinking about. But when everything is done, and either the child has reached the end of their battle, or has proven the odds against it many wish they had more time to stop, and capture the journey that they lived through for so long. Through Littlest Heroes our photographers understand each and every case, and cater it to fit and honor each child and family. Our photographers are on hand to travel to homes, hospitals, clinics, fundraisers, and benefits to help capture your child’s journey in a “Day in the life” sort of style and work personally one on one with your child and entire family to get those special family photos and moments that you can cherish for years to come
