A mama can dream, right?

April 30, 2008

Michael has been asking me what I’d like for Mother’s day… hmm….

1. Bathroom remodel finished
2. Closets redone and floors put in
3. New master vanity with two sinks
4. The front flower beds rebuilt and filled with colorful flowers
5. A maid service
6. Kitchen and entry textured and painted
7. laundry finished AND ironed
8. A GOOD family portrait
9. and
10. and.

Okay… I bet he wishes he’d never asked! I can always dream, right? One thing this mama photog really wants? A Shoot Sac!!!… of course I still love my black and whites, so the Baroque Cover would be a must…..

So honey, if you read this… here’s my Mother’s Day wish list!!
I love you, by the way!!

{{*.Misty.*}}: Husbands LOVE when they ask what we want... and we give them a list of a million things, instead of the one simple thing they'd hoped for! *lol*

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day this year!

Mrs. G and I both had big visions of her sweet son finger painting on her beautiful baby belly, but Mr. C was having nothing of it! He was interested in markers for about 2 minutes but after that, it was more fun to blow bubbles or run around the yard. At least we can say we tried!

Lisa Walsh: I would've never thought of finger painting on the belly. Great idea!

Maddie Dean Photography: Thanks Lisa, but I can't take credit... the fun mama thought of it!

Denise M. Godfrey: Kids rarely do what we want them to do, do they? That's a fun idea! Especially for a boy to do.

I had the honor of photographing the beautiful Mr. Z in all of his 8 day old glory! Even Aiden couldn’t get enough of this little man. He wasn’t much for sleeping even though my house felt like the sahara desert! But we still had a good time and I hope mom & dad enjoy his newborn pictures!

You do great work Sarah!

Second time’s a charm!

April 17, 2008

Since my first attempt at bluebonnet pictures with Aiden was a bust, Mike and I trekked out again yesterday evening to give it another try! I wouldn’t exactly say it was “successful” but it definitely went better than Tuesday did! Aiden hadn’t had a nap and it was evident as soon as we got there but I was determined to get a few shots! Mike even took over the camera for a bit and came out with a few good ones! We forgot to leave the snack trap in the car so that blasted orange thing is in most of the pictures! Oh well, at least I got my 2008 Blue Bonnet pictures!!

My super talented hubby took these!

Maddie Dean Photography: Misty - she was born Tuesday!! Give me your email cause I can't find your phone number :)

I had the pleasure of photographing Ms. S this afternoon in her cap and gown. In just a few weeks, she’ll be a proud graduate of ACC’s Licensed Vocational Nurse program. She has worked very hard to accompolish her goals and I’m very proud of her! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

It’s hard to believe, but my little brother is a SENIOR this year!! It really doesn’t seem like *that* long ago that I was dressing him up in my cabbage patch clothes or walking around singing the buddy song with him! Gordo definitely walks to the beat of his own unique drum, but I still love him all the same. A few weeks ago we walked the streets of Gruene, Tx together taking some senior shots…. Talk about a challenge - I think brothers who suffer from senior-itis may be the most difficult clients, ever. Just kidding - it wasn’t so bad! We had a good time and I’m glad he was such a trooper!

-Sarah-

Sorry Gordo, but there needed to be some embarrassing pictures in this post - but don’t feel too bad since you can see what I looked like too!!

Missie: Ohhh... beautiful pictures!
And, I think you look like your Mom! And, Aiden's boo-boo... poor guy, hope he is feeling better. Lauren's lip healed greatly and no more bruising.

PKS

April 15, 2008

Most people think the term PK stands for “Preacher’s Kid” well in this family it means “Photographer’s Kid” and Aiden has a serious case of photographer’s kid syndrome. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s near impossible for me to get a good photograph of my own child! Maybe it’s a good thing that I’ve come to terms with this since I’ve had it in my head that I’ll do the baby’s newborn pictures myself - HMPF! Perhaps I should re-think that idea! I tried to take the traditional Blue Bonnet pictures today and it was a disaster. Aiden did not want to cooperate. He’s at the age where he thinks Mama’s camera is a toy (HARDLY!) and he either wants to finger my lens or wants to look at the back of the screen. He loves to sit in my lap and try to take pictures himself. I got a few pictures taken (none are very good since I was in full - sun) before he ran down the hill and crashed and burned into a tree root!! *sigh* maybe someday I’ll have good pictures of my own kiddos!

Close up of his new boo boo - boys will be boys I guess.
It’s hard to see here, but there is a raised knot under the scratch!

Does this look like a happy camper to you?

Uh, seems to be a pattern here….

At least Miss M was a bit happier :)

Well… for a little bit anyways….

Miss Ella turned ONE!

April 2, 2008

Mike’s cousin’s little girl turned one this past week and her party was on Sunday. Gymboree is the coolest place! I can’t believe there isn’t one in Clear Lake. I’m in the wrong business, folks! Too bad I’m not rollin-in-dough, I think it’d be a blast to own/operate one! Anyways, here are some shots from the big bash!
