No title… too tired to think of one!
Well, to say that this flight was much smoother than the last is an understatement! I think it helped that Aiden didn’t smash his finger as we were walking out the door. Both of my kids were Saints – at one point I had to wonder what happened to my real kids.
Aiden was obsessed with the planes and I’m sure he drove everyone around us crazy with this excitement. That little cary-on chair is A-mazing! There is no way I could fly without it. Plus a caryon is perfect for me to pack all of my camera gear. (not brave enough to check that!!) People were focused on how cute MJ was then would bust out laughing when I’d walk past with a kid attached to my suitcase. I’m sure it’s quiet a sight! I have no idea how many times I’ve flown (bunches!) but I’ve never taken my camera on the flight with me (Washington, D.C. in 7th grade doesn’t count!!) Fortunately both flights were fairly empty so I didn’t look like a complete fool. I at least left my flash in the bag…. Guess I was feeling some conviction for not taking my camera with me everywhere and getting more pictures of my kids and their every-day-life. We made it though and are enjoying our last trip to 1514 Texas St, though I admit that I’m very sad… I still can’t believe that after 16 years my parents are moving…. going home will never be the same!
Enjoy!

MJ loved the plane… as long as she had that thumb in her mouth!
Aiden spent most of the flight just like this… glued to the window….
Blog in – Bloggers Unite against the CPSIA!
As parents and concerned citizens I’m sure most of us at one time or another have been confronted with the question of lead poisoning. But have you asked yourself what your government is doing to protect your children from lead contained in toys? The answer? They’re banning toys, taking books from schools and libraries, hurting low income families, killing entrepreneurial spirit and risking putting the economy in an even greater depression than we’ve seen in decades. I’d like to introduce you to their solution: the CPSIA.
Do you know about the CPSIA? No? Then I ask you to take a few minutes to find out about it.
The CPSIA stands for Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, a new set of laws that will come into effect on 10 February, 2009 and will impact many, many people in a negative way. Make no mistake, this is very real. View it for yourself. If Forbes, the American Library Association and numerous other media are paying attention, perhaps you should too.
How will these new laws affect you? Well, here are a few examples:
To the Parents of Young Students:
Due to the new law, expect to see the cost of school supplies sky rocket. While those paper clips weren’t originally intended for your student to use, they will need to be tested now that your 11-year-old needs them for his school project. This law applies to any and all school supplies (textbooks, pencils, crayons, paper, etc.) being used by children under 12.
To the Avid Reader:
Due to the new law, all children’s books will be pulled from library and school shelves, as there is no exemption for them. That’s okay though, there’s always television. Our children don’t need to learn the love of reading after all.
Article from the American Library Association http://www.wo.ala.org/districtdispatch/?p=1322
To the Lover of All Things Handmade:
Due to the new law, you will now be given a cotton ball and an instruction manual so you can make it yourself since that blanket you originally had your eye on for $50 will now cost you around $1,000 after it’s passed testing. It won’t even be the one-of-a-kind blanket you were hoping for. Items are destroyed in the testing process making one-of-a-kind items virtually impossible. So that gorgeous hand-knit hat you bought your child this past winter won’t be available next winter.
To the Environmentalist:
Due to the new law, all items in non-compliance will now be dumped into our already overflowing landfills. Imagine not just products from the small business owners, but the Big Box Stores as well. You can’t sell it so you must toss it. Or be potentially sued for selling it. You can’t even give them away. If you are caught, it is still a violation.
To the Second-Hand Shopper:
Due to the new law, you will now need to spend $20 for that brand new pair of jeans for your 2-year old, rather than shop at the Goodwill for second hand. Many resale shops are eliminating children’s items all together to avoid future lawsuits.
To the Entrepreneur:
Due to this new law, you will be forced to adhere to strict testing of your unique products or discontinue to make and/or sell them. Small businesses will be likely to be unable to afford the cost of testing and be forced to close up shop. Due to the current economic state, you’ll have to hope for the best when it comes to finding a new job in Corporate America.
To the Antique Toy Collector:
Due to the new law, you’d better start buying now because it’s all going to private collection and will no longer be available to purchase. “Because the new rules apply retroactively, toys and clothes already on the shelf will have to be thrown out if they aren’t certified as safe.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123189645948879745.html
To the American Economy:
Already struggling under an economy that hasn’t been this weak in decades, the American economy will be hit harder with the inevitable loss of jobs and revenues from suppliers, small businesses and consumers. The required testing is far too costly and restrictive for small businesses or individuals to undertake.
To the Worldwide Economy:
Due to this new law, many foreign manufacturers have already pulled out of the US market. You can imagine the impact of this on their businesses.

‘My Life’ Monday
Yikes! I can’t believe it’s already 11:30… Where did my day GO? I’ve been running around like crazy trying to get caught up on laundry and pack for myself and 2 kids for a week at Gigi & Joejoe’s house! I’m starting to really feel the crunch now. With every hour that passes I think my to-do list is lengthened by at least 3 or 4 items!! Ahh, oh well… somehow it will all get done. In case you’re wondering, the only reason I have time to make this post is because I’m feeding MJ

PS. Head over to my crafty blog, and take a look at the beautiful scarf I’m giving away!!
Told you I have lots of Laundry!
Bags all ready to go… well, ready to go on the bed to be packed

Girls. Night. Out.
Want to hear a funny joke? Alight. Two photographers plan a girls night out to for a fun concert and speaking engagement. The keynote speaker is Kate Gosselin, yes the one from Jon&Kate plus 8. Through a series of fortunate events and a nosey friend they end up #9 in line for book signing out of THOUSANDS of people…. Alright, hold on to your seats, here come they punch line….. NEITHER PHOTOGRAPHER HAD A CAMERA!! Ha Ha Ha, is that not the funniest thing you’ve ever heard? Pretty pathetic, huh? At any rate, we still had an awesome time! Although Kate was supposed to be the highlight of the evening, I think I enjoyed listening to Lysa Terkeurst the most. Not only was she very funny, she had an incredible spirit. I think I could have listened to her all night. Renee Swope was also a very good speaker. Kate had a lot of ‘ums’ which is a pet peeve of mine, but I know I couldn’t get up there and speak in front of a 4K+ crowed!! She shared some stuff that is left off of the show and even though I get frustrated with her attitude at times, I do think she is an amazing woman. God sure knew what he was doing when he only gave us one at a time! There is NO WAY I could do what she does! Ayiesha Woods And Jason Catron did the music – Loved it! I am so thankful for such a wonderful friend! We truly had an awesome time!

Sweet Baby Boy {Santa Fe, Texas Newborn Photographer}
Meet Logan. He was such a sweet heart today – a real trooper. I heard that he didn’t like having his clothes off, but he tolerated all of my silliness quiet well! Once he finally went to sleep I fell in love with his squeaks and grunts. *Almost* made me want another baby! Erin, thank you for letting me into your life today, I truly enjoyed capturing this little guy for you. I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek!
Nicole + Micah :: Sweet Love {Friendswood, Texas Engagement Photographer}
