Links of Love {Charity Golf Tournament}

Last April, I was asked to help photograph a charity golf tournament benefitting CCA - Children’s Craniofacial Association is a nonprofit organization of Dallas, Texas that was formed to help families with craniofacial needs. CCA addresses the medical, financial, psychosocial, emotional, and educational concerns relating to craniofacial conditions. I got to know some of the “CCA Moms”, as they call themselves, and was invited to their 6th annual golf tournament in Dallas. Of course I was happy to go! I had a blast documenting this fabulous event and I truly cannot wait until the next one. I think I’m going to just pretend to be a CCA Mom and keep hanging out with these wonderful women! They have long gotten these images, but I wanted to share here as well!

Beautiful Mama {Pearland Maternity Photographer}

I met this sweet mama when I was a nursing student – She was so patient with me while I tagged on her heels during my final 12 clinicals. Once I graduated and landed my dream job, I was lucky enough to start my career with her! She was a fabulous preceptor and gave me a great head start in Labor & Delivery. Now, after several years helping to bring babies into this world, it’s time for her to be a mama and I got the honor of documenting the pregnancy. Isn’t she gorgeous? I am thrilled for her and cannot wait until baby Connor gets here – he will be a handsome fella!

Love Birds {Friendswood Couple Photographer}

This hot couple happens to be my brother and his girlfriend. I had a blast doing a session with them, but mostly I am just thrilled to actually live in the same town again – it’s been over 13 years since that has happened!  Hope you guys love these!

Watts {Friendswood Family Photographer}

This family came to me via a mutual friend and I am so glad they did! Aren’t they beautiful! Mama now has her full gallery, so I can show the rest of the world some of their session. I hope these make you smile :) Thank you so much Watts family, I look forward to our next session! You have a fabulous family and despite the rain, you were a joy to photograph.

Super Moon 2013 {Friendswood Photographer}

Did you step out and admire the super moon this past weekend? I did, and like probably thousands of other photographers, I couldn’t resist grabbing a few shots. This first one was shot next to Galveston’s Pleasure Pier, we went to Bubba Gump’s for dinner :) I planned the trip to the island specifically for the moon rise. The second one was taken from my driveway several hours later, once the gold had disappeared.

All the way for CCA {Charity Golf Tournament}

Almost 2 years ago I began talking to a potential nursing student named Becky, we had met thru a popular forum for nurses. We spent a great deal of time texting and chatting as she was trying to get through the entrance process at UTMB. I don’t think either of us realized what kind of friendship was being formed. Becky was a semester behind me when she began, but over the summer, our classes merged and we became even closer.

I’ve told her this a lot, but I think she’s an incredible person. She isn’t just a wife and a mom who was going through a BSN program. She is mommy to a beautiful 6 year old special-needs boy named Wade. Baby Wade suffers from a craniofacial genetic disorder called Pfeiffer Syndrome . He needs constant nursing care (good thing his mommy is a fabulous nurse now!), many surgeries, speciality physician visits, and the list just goes on and on…

Here’s where CCA enters - Children’s Craniofacial Association is a nonprofit organization of Dallas, Texas that was formed to help families with craniofacial needs. CCA addresses the medical, financial, psychosocial, emotional, and educational concerns relating to craniofacial conditions. Their mission is simple. They empower and give hope to individuals and families affected by facial differences. They also have fantastic resources for school districts, educators, and anyone who is associated with facial differences – Wonder is book about a 5th grader with several facial difference entering mainstream education – its a book about the power of our words. Its a powerful read that includes kindness, courage, judgment, support and love.

Just a few days after we graduated, when most of us were sitting around dumbfounded by our new freedom, Beck was busy organizing a benefit golf tournament – All the way for CCA. She asked if I minded coming out to take a few pictures, and since I was trying to avoid laundry and the NCLEX, I happily said YES!! I am so glad that I spent my morning with some amazing people! Kudos to everyone involved – the golfers, the businesses who donated items for the silent auction, the CCA moms – They raised over $26,000!!!!

So, without anymore yipping from me – here are the pictures! I hope you guys enjoy looking through them as much as I did taking them!!
